Payments
All payments will be converted from Euros to CAD at an exchange rate of 1.6%. Exchange rates and prices may change if there are significant fluctuations in currencies. International payments can be made via credit card with Square, a certified cheque, or a money transfer. Travellers from Canada can use the same options, except a direct e-transfer is also available with no fee. All travellers must complete the booking form and agree to these terms and conditions before I can accept a deposit.
After the deposit deadline is met, deposits are refundable only if the Tour is undeliverable due to either not meeting the minimum numbers or FXT canceling it, which will be at FXT's sole discretion. Please note that acts of God or COVID-related cancellations are outside the scope of my control. Any deposits will remain with FXT for use on future travel opportunities within one year or will be forfeited.
After the deposit deadline, payments become non-refundable unless the tour is undeliverable and cancelled by FXT (outside of an act of god, etc). Any refunds will not include upgraded bookings, single supplements, artist fees for experiences, private tour bookings, concierge services, fees, or any other expenses already assumed in the good faith delivery of the tour. Any deposits FXT makes to secure tour opportunities for you will be deducted from the refund when appropriate. Private tours, shopping experiences or extended concierge services can be booked at any time; each payment is due upon booking and is non-refundable. Prices do not include taxes (5% GST for Canadians), your bank exchange rates or any credit card fees, which will be applied at payment. FXT reserves the right to charge additional fees costs jump significantly. Refunds will be processed within 30 days of the deposit deadline where applicable, and the amount of any fees incurred from payment processors or banks will be deducted from any refund, including the deposit.
2. Travel and Accommodation
All participants are responsible for the costs and arranging their own flights. This allows the participants to extend or modify their trip and use points or passes for travel. Accommodations will be at the discretion of FXT and are based on double occupancy. For Guests on the Luxe tour, complimentary hot breakfast will be available at the hotel during the hotel’s set hours. Each guest must leave a credit card number with the front desk to accommodate any other charges such as dry cleaning, room service, hotel services, or damages.
All participants are responsible for their comfort and must abide by any rules set by the hotel, museum, atelier, or any business or vendor we encounter, including the rules set by FXT, and the guide. Participants are also responsible for their baggage and personal belongings. FXT assumes no liability for loss or damage to baggage in transit to and from a tour or while on the tour. FXT will pay taxes for the hotel for the hotel dates booked by FXT for guests. Additional nights at the same hotel will be made directly with the hotel by guests (with assistance from FXT if needed) and will be paid by the participant directly to the hotel or booking company.
FXT requests that guests purchase trip cancellation and requires medical insurance. Any questions or concerns about travel insurance should be addressed directly to each guest’s travel insurance company. For any financial loss associated with a guest’s travel arrangements or luggage, FXT will not be financially or otherwise responsible. Participants are responsible for transporting their luggage to, from, and within the hotel unless the hotel provides luggage services.
3. Itinerary
The itinerary listed on the website is a sample, and activities are subject to change at any time to accommodate what is available during the groups’ time in Paris. FXT has sole discretion to substitute services, meals and goods as it deems appropriate in the circumstances and will endeavour to find suitable replacements as may be required; however, FXT shall not refund, in whole or in part, any monies if FXT is unable to find a suitable replacement or substitution.
Participants will be responsible for meeting the tour group at the appointed times and places for each activity and arriving at each location ON TIME. A guide will meet participants each day at the hotel most days, but participants can meet the tour group anywhere along the tour routes at their discretion. Please note that you may not be guaranteed entrance to activities/tours if you are late. Participants will receive details about the next day at the end of each day, and notification is required if a participant is going to be absent or late for any event, including an early departure.
Participants are required to keep up with the tour group and respect the time allotted during the tour’s stops for shopping or photos. If a Participant is missing or lost during the tour, it is the sole responsibility of the Participant to contact the guide and make their way back to the group at the following location or their hotel. No refunds will be given for partial or complete absence during the tour. Though we encourage the use of the buddy system, each participant is responsible for themselves at all times, and the tour will not be interrupted to accommodate latecomers or those unable to keep pace.

4. Transportation and Communication
FXT will provide each participant on the Grand and Luxe tours with metro passes or tickets, which each participant will be responsible for having with them. If the participant loses or damages the pass, the participant will be responsible for replacing transit passes or fare tickets. FXT may provide alternate transportation such as a car service, taxi or bus at its discretion if the locations are inaccessible by metro or walking. If participants would like to book their own transportation, they may do so at their own cost and discretion so long as they meet the timelines set by the tour. If participants are not able at any time to manage within the transportation offered by FXT, they are required to pay for their own taxi or car service. This is a walking tour, and participants must be able to keep up with the group, or they will be asked to take a car to the following location at their expense or to meet up when they can. FXT endeavours to limit the walking needed by scheduling activities in proximity wherever possible. Participants on the Petit tour will be responsible for their own transportation; however, FXT will help with instructions and assistance whenever possible.
Please be advised that we may walk as many as 10,000 steps a day, encounter many stairs when using the metro, and stand for long periods of time when in museums where there may be limited or no seating. Please ensure you disclose anything that may limit your participation at the time of booking. Refunds are not available if your ability to participate changes before or during the tour.
All communications will be delivered in person or via electronic messaging, and FXT cannot be held responsible if you are unable to receive relevant information digitally. Participants are required to keep up with the tour group and be respectful of the time allotted during the Tour’s stops for shopping or photos. If a Participant is missing or lost during the tour it is the sole responsibility of the Participant to contact the guide and make their way back to the group at the next location or their hotel. No refunds will be given for partial or complete absence during the Tour. Though we encourage the use of the buddy system, each participant is responsible for themselves at all times, and the tour cannot be interrupted to accommodate latecomers.
Participants will be required to use a travel plan for data for their smartphone, as all information will be delivered electronically via email or text when not in person. Important information, such as meeting points or changes during the tour days when the group is split up, needs to be accessible to the Participant. If you do not have a smartphone and data, FXT cannot be held responsible if you do not receive important information. You can access an eSim from a wide range of companies or use a travel plan from your service provider. Feel free to ask if you need some direction.
5. Food and Beverages
FXT provides participants on the Luxe tour with a complimentary breakfast each day at the hotel on each day of the tour except arrival day. Participants on the Luxe and the Grand tours will be provided with lunch on each tour day, except arrival, departure or picnic day. This does not include beverages, desserts, extra courses or additions unless specified or approved. While the tour strives to accommodate each participant’s dietary restrictions wherever possible, FXT cannot guarantee all meals will be suitable to meet each participant’s dietary restrictions or requests. FXT might be able to recommend nearby places to accommodate restrictions, and participants are welcome to change their meals at their own cost. Participants cannot order multiple courses unless specified, as lunch timing is often limited when moving to the following location. If you decide to make additions or extra courses outside of what is provided, you should consult the guide or be prepared to meet up with the group later if necessary. Some tours do not allow latecomers; your guide can tell you if you can arrive late to an event.
Please let FXT know about any dietary restrictions or allergies when booking. Gift baskets may include allergens, which cannot be changed unless the participant discloses allergies or dietary restrictions before travelling. Most places offer vegetarian, GF and occasionally vegan options, but we do our best to find appropriate menus for everyone. All other meals will be at the participant’s discretion and expense. FXT can make recommendations and may be able to help with reservations, or you can use the concierge services included in your hotel.
The Ducasse sûr Seine Michelin Star restaurant boat for the Luxe tour is on condition of availability at the time of booking and with a minimum of 4 travellers. If the ship isn’t an option, FXT will provide an evening meal at an appropriate location.
6. Insurance and Emergencies
Participants should have their own medical (required) and travel insurance (recommended). They will need to provide FXT with such insurance details, emergency contacts, full name and address, and flight details. Participants will be responsible for appearing for the designated tour days and will not be refunded if any days or the entire trip are missed unless cancelled by FXT or by a previous arrangement. Participants are required to keep in contact with FXT if any travel delays are encountered. Please ensure you are in communication with me if you have an accident or experience an emergency.
7. Waiver and Indemnity
Participants may not substitute themselves for any other person in a spot purchased on the tour. Participants will all need to sign A RELEASE, WAIVER, ASSUMPTION OF RISKS AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT and provide such executed copy to FXT a minimum of 5 days prior to the start of the Tour. Copies of the terms and conditions and the contract/waiver will be sent before the tour commences. If a participant receives the waiver and decides not to sign it, they will not participate in any aspect of the tour, including the hotel. They will not receive a refund as this will be deemed a forfeiture of any money paid.
8. Behaviour
Each participant must observe rules of basic common courtesy and respect to all tour group members, the guide and any other people we encounter. FXT does not tolerate any homophobia, sexism, racism, violence, transphobia, harassment, ableism, or general hatefulness. Each participant shall respect the authority and follow the directions of the guide and the laws of the country where the tour operates at all times. Anyone engaging in any behaviour deemed illegal, inappropriate, offensive, disrespectful or harmful during the tour is at the sole discretion of FXT, and the participant will not be allowed to continue the rest of the tour and will receive no refund but will be allowed to keep their hotel room for the duration. If the Hotel asks a guest to leave, FXT will not be responsible for providing alternate accommodations.
This is a no-smoking tour. However, we cannot control the environments we will be in to be completely smoke-free. Participants will not be permitted to smoke while walking or eating with the group, even if in a designated smoking area, however participants can remove themselves from the other participants if they would like to smoke.
*Covid 19 requirements in France are continuously changing and FXT will ensure that participants understand the requirements at the time of travel and may be able to advise how to comply. You will not receive a refund if you become sick during your travel and cannot participate. If you present with any symptoms, you may be required to wear a mask inside and around the group (provided), and you will be asked to eat on the terrace. The decision will be at the guide's discretion. If you miss out on activities from contracting COVID-19 or other illness before the tour, we will consider refunding any money not already paid out on your behalf toward your future travel with us up to one month before the tour and minus any money paid or unrecoverable. You must comply with all local laws regarding masking, vaccinations, and social distancing. Respirator-style masks are provided, appreciated, and encouraged with the group, especially indoors, on the metro, and in crowded places like our ateliers. All guests will be COVID-tested at the orientation, and anyone testing positive will be required to mask for the entirety of the tour when with the group inside and outdoors. *If you require a mask exemption, cannot be relied on to follow instructions, or refuse to test, this is not the tour for you.
These are the terms under which FXT offers its group tours. By registering and paying your deposit for a tour, you agree to all terms and conditions set forth herein. Please read these terms carefully before booking your tour with FXT. FXT acts as the tour designer and guide for its tours but is not responsible for the acts or omissions of the itinerary, other participants, clients, sponsors, other guides, translators, vendors or people who may be encountered on the tour. Participants can be assured I will gladly answer requests and help with problems wherever possible.
Please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns. I look forward to making your Parisian dreams come true!
